Christmas Tree LightingVogel State Park

Join us for the 10th Annual Tree Lighting of a 35-foot live Blue Spruce.

There will be caroling, hayrides, Santa Claus visit, 3-bonfires, hot chocolate, cider, and cookies. Also, please bring an unwrapped gift for a child 0-12 years of age. No toy guns or knives.

The Union County Sheriff's Office will give all of these gifts out through their Give-A-Gift Toy Drive. Please bring a blanket/chair for warmth and comfort. 706-745-2628.

Black Bear Plunge & First Day HikeFort Mountain

Start your year off right by joining us at 11 AM for the Black Bear Plunge into Fort Mountain Lake, then at 12 PM the Park Naturalist will lead a guided first day hike around the lake. Registration & fee are required for the Plunge.

Black Bear Plunge: $15.00/person in advance. Register by December 23rd. Pre-registered participants will receive a Black Bear Plunge T-shirt. $25.00/person day of event. Registration is 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. (T-shirts are not guaranteed the day of event.) First Day Hike: The Park Naturalist will lead a guided hike around Fort Mountain Lake.
