While some people bemoan the lack of corporate cuisine in small towns, others find this absence to be a delightful change of pace. In the beautiful city of Blue Ridge, GA locals get their caffeine kick taken care of at L & L Beanery, which calls the old downtown bank building home. I decided to take a trip to North Georgia and see what everyone on Trip Advisor was raving about.
Inside this historic building, the coffee connoisseur serve up a selection of specially-chosen coffee blends and other refreshing beverages, along with tempting breakfast and lunch offerings.
Of course, the first thing I noticed was the delightfully omnipotent smell of fresh roasted coffee, but the coffee isn't the only thing that tickles your senses when you enter. L&L Beanery also features a full line of homemade baked goods that fill the air with an irresistible aroma.
Breakfast at L & L Beanery is unlike available in any other restaurant in Blue Ridge. Choosing which meal to enjoy was not about whether I wanted bacon or sausage with any of their full line of traditional southern breakfast favorites, but about trying something different. We decided to live a little with Eggs Benedict for me and a Breakfast burrito and mini-muffins for Madame. Although he wasn't along for this ride, I'm sure junior would have loved the Funny Face pancake complete with whipped cream and strawberries.
On the lunch menu, the special chicken salad on a fresh baked croissant is definitely a winner, as is the trio salad that features a scoop each of chicken, egg, and tuna salad. There is also plenty of temptation to be found in their line of café exclusive soups such as Tomato Bisque or Chicken and Wild Rice.
Of course, my L&L Beanery review has to mention all the amenities you have grown to expect from a coffee house. Relax away the day with a cappuccino or latte and use their free Wi-Fi network to catch up on what old friends are doing. Most of all, come to enjoy the atmosphere, the cuisine, and the lovely laid-back southern way they have of making new customers feel like old, dear friends.
